MBS News – March 2006
Here are some news from the first quarter of the year :
1. The MBS Grand Reunion Dinner 2006
The school has planned a Grand Reunion Dinner to celebrate the school’s 115th Anniversary at the school field. Initially scheduled for March 2006, the dinner has been rescheduled for July 2006 due to unforeseen circumstances. The good news is – the Suffolk House restoration will be completed by then and every effort will be made to allow guests to the dinner to visit the historic ACS-MBS landmark. The school is also trying its best to ensure that YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi attends the dinner as our Special Guest of Honour.
2. Construction work on a new “Living Skills” Block of two workshops is expected to start in early April, 2006. The project will take 3-4 months to complete.
3. The new extension block, named the Jeannie Cheong Lean Eng Building has a lecture hall that can accommodate 180 persons, a multimedia laboratory, an editing room and two large classrooms. The building is expected to be officially opened by the Minister of Education in May or June this year.
